Today in denkwerk the year was discussed.
It will be an important one. An expansion of the board, a new series of events that starts on March 21st (already bookable on our website ) A new, this time larger, participatory congress in September and the question of how politics can be depoliticized and how this urgently needs to be done. In view of the dramatic loss of attitude in German politics. In view of the exclusively ideological obstruction debates from the faction of the "technology-open" conservatives. In view of the fraternization of the C parties with the AfD on issues of migration and soon also on climate protection: It is time to speak out loudly and clearly against this. And to tell people that there is more lies there than truth.
That is why we are setting out and we have big plans. Because here in the district and in Saxony in general, the really important questions remain unanswered. This will remain the case even after the upcoming elections. Instead of honest debate, populism is raging at the ballot box. With the exception of a few, hopeless candidates.
Limit migration! It's better to leave the energy transition behind. Instead, point the finger at others and complain as much as you can. More money! Less for those who supposedly don't want to work. And for those who don't belong here. Then everything will be fine.
Buzzwords. Nothing more.
Generalities like covering the district administration's properties with solar panels, which we initiated months ago. Talking to everyone, which is currently becoming fashionable, especially in the direction of right-wing extremist parties. Or has long been the norm. For years. Whether CDU, Free Voters or whoever. When it comes to goals for progress, there is a great deal of agreement. In preventing it, of course. There was never a firewall here. Let us briefly recall the illegal vote, conducted on Axd's motion, against an increase in funding for accommodation costs for refugees. Against a mandatory task that a district council cannot vote against. Here we find the truth about the firewall. Black and white. That much is clear. And there will be none. AxD seems happy with the competition. Because if AxD had been serious, it would have put forward a serious candidate here too. And would have been as scathing about everyone else as it could. Which is what people always do there when they're afraid. But here it was quiet. Very quiet.
Populist talk replaces clear ideas and fails to recognise that we NEED migration. That it is also and largely UP TO US if it does not work. That the energy transition is paving the way for the third industrial revolution that has long since begun. The business field of the next 100 years. The century of change, resilience and decarbonisation. Worldwide, this process has long been irreversible. Why? Because you can do the math in China too. And because we know that there can be no cheaper sources of energy. Which is why more wind and solar power is being built there than anywhere else. We are already in danger of fundamentally falling behind because all of this is being blocked by conservative ideology. Yes. Conservative and ideological. Because while global science confirms the green transition every day, the conservative talk from here is nothing more than lobby-funded drivel about alleged technological openness and the new combustion engine transition. Instead of finally focusing all our energy on these issues and implementing the energy transition (which we are now implementing) WITH the local people for the benefit of citizens and municipalities. To improve municipal finances, to provide citizens with cheap electricity and investments in a secure future. And of course, to protect the climate.
Because we too will feel the effects of the changes. Drought, bark beetle plagues, floods, storms. We already have all of that here. And - for all those who think migration is unacceptable - an explosion of it in the next 20 years. Because then people will not only be fleeing from the wars, which are mostly fought over oil and gas. No. They will have to flee from a climate that is wiping out their homes. And there will be many millions of people. So anyone who already thinks the boat is full will experience something else. And if not him, then his children. Unless we finally do something. And if not out of insight, then in our own interest.
It is time to finally speak plainly. We must change. The fossil age is over. Whether we like it or not. Whether Hans-Jürgen von Telegramm sees this or not. Whether the Free Saxons threaten democrats or not. Before us lies the age of resilience, of fundamental change. That is not something you get for free. You have to work for it.
And that doesn't come for free. The desired and contrived standstill is fatal. It can do nothing except fear and hatred. And science denial. That is why the fight against climate change has degenerated into an ugly fake debate. Some talk about the alleged "windmills of shame" and dream of total demolition, which is clearly NOT legally possible. Others rant about nuclear fusion. Although they know that science will not see this in series for at least 60 to 100 years. Then it will be the revival of nuclear power. Insoluble and not even wanted by the nuclear lobby. Too expensive. Too risky. Too dependent on Russia. Now we are talking about gas power plants. A solution that the Greens have been planning for a long time as a transition. But when they propose it, it drives Merz and his regulars to fury. Mendacious. Irresponsible. How can you sin on such important issues? Just to get a percentage point at the next ballot box. No. That has to stop. Because, incidentally, it is the energy transition that not only marks the third industrial revolution. No. It is what protects the climate and lowers electricity prices. And, even more incidentally, it brings freedom because we are becoming independent of dictators of all kinds. No? A look at history provides clarity.
Wars are fought over oil. Not over wind turbines. We will fight outside of parliament to make our country open and sustainable again. Let's not kid ourselves. Unfortunately, this has become impossible from within. The majorities have been taken hostage by the regulars' table. It is their own fault and it is irreversible. We want to discuss the issue with the citizens. With those who are currently standing quietly on the sidelines and feel that something has to be done. But who are also fed up with populist bickering.
In short: with all those who want to shape the future. Setting goals together and implementing them. From citizen electricity to citizen participation. And it works. It doesn't matter who holds which office. What matters is whether you honestly and truthfully look for solutions and implement them. And you don't even need politics for that. Everything we need is there. We just have to do it.
Thanks to almost 170 denkwerkOstlers who are now working and supporting us. It will be hard. We will face a lot of resistance. People will laugh at us, people will try to ridicule us. I know all of that well enough. But none of that is relevant. What counts are the goals. The facts. The truth. The WE. Let us spread confidence where others use hate and fear. Courage is the future. Truth wins people over. And that is exactly what we stand for. Let's get started! There is a lot to do.
